Olympus SP-600UZ 12MP Digital Camera with 15x Wide Angle Dual Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7 inch LCD

Olympus SP-600UZ 12MP Digital Camera with 15x Wide Angle Dual Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7 inch LCD

I am an amateur who would prefer an SLR, but am too cheap to buy one. This camera is close to an SLR. I would like to be able to attach a shutter release cable instead of pushing a button and possibly shaking the camera during macro and zoom.

So far I have been taking mostly super macro of flowers and bugs and they are VERY beautiful. I display them on my computer walpaper slide show and the detail and clarity are beyond my expectations.

I have been taking most pictures with camera attached to a monopod which helps stabilize the camera.

This camera is very easy to use, seems to have a very good lense. I love it.

Digital Camera Manual – Take Advantage of Your Camera’s Owner Manual
Jul 18th, 2010 by admin

When you buy a new digital camera, an owner’s manual always comes with the package. The owner’s manual usually list down all features and details about the camera that could help you, the owner, understand the camera better. However, most camera owners do not take the time to explore the manual more once they got the camera from the manufacturer, maybe because they are so excited about the new shiny camera they are holding in their hands. Most often, owners manuals are just tossed away into oblivion.

Another reason why people often ignore the manual is because they find the manual too technical – maybe the terms used are all new and confusing to the owner – especially for beginners. Terms such as white balance, pixels, DPI, or optical zoom can be overwhelming for a lot of new users. Or, there seems to be too much information to digest. Experienced ones are also likely to ignore the manuals because they think they already know too well.

But not all cameras are the same, even those that come from the same brand and manufacturer. The arrangement and functions of the buttons or dials on one model may not be same as the other model. On that note, it is recommended for every digital camera owner to read the manual more than once especially if they want to fully understand the camera’s features and capabilities.

Only a few people take the time to read it. But for those few people who read it, it is all worth it. Why? A digital camera manual lets you explore each of the camera’s specialties and features. It explains in details how to fully utilize them to make your pictures look more professional even if you’re just an amateur, for instance. It helps you apply the correct light and exposure settings to get the best out of your every photo shoot.

A camera manual talks about in details the basic processes of the camera – how to turn it on and off, how to adjust the focus, and what buttons to press to take your very first shot. Aside from that, it also offers helpful bits of tips and information on how to take best quality photos. It teaches you what mode to use which is appropriate for your every photo session. The camera manual also explains the process of downloading and storing the images into your computer if you choose to print them later or directly uploading them online so you can share them to your friends and families almost instantly. Information about its battery life is also helpful so you can be sure the camera isn’t shutting down while you’re in the middle of a very important affair.

If you find your digital camera manual so overwhelming, you can take the instructions or guides in the manual one at a time. Pick a special feature you want to focus on, read the manual thoroughly, take your camera and execute what the manual is telling you to do. Understand what the feature does, how to use it, and don’t go jumping to another cool feature until you have fully explored the current one. Working through your owner’s manual this way helps you learn everything about your digital camera the easiest and most convenient way.

Extraterrestrial Life and Technology on the Moon

Anomalous images from the Apollo 16 mission We haven’t been back. What mysteries are waiting to be discovered on the moon. Will we ever find out?apollo.sese.asu.edu In 1961, President John F. Kennedy announced an ambitious goal of sending an American safely to the Moon before the end of the decade. NASA answered the challenge in 1969 with the successful landing of the Apollo 11 Lunar Module (LM). To record their historic voyages and collect scientific observations many thousands of photographs were acquired with handheld and automated cameras during all the Apollo missions. After returning to Earth, the film was developed and stored at Johnson Space Center (JSC), where they still reside. Due to the historical significance of the original flight films, typically only duplicate (2nd or 3rd generation) film products are currently available for study and used to make prints. To allow full access to the original flight films for both researchers and the general public, Johnson Space Center and Arizona State University’s Space Exploration Resources are scanning and creating an online digital archive of all the original Apollo flight films. Through this online interface, users may browse through the archive and download any of the images. This web site also provides a suite of resources regarding the images and the cameras that were used during the Apollo program. Finally, the scanning process is estimated to take three years with the first production scans recorded in late June
